How you can engage with CAC

Although our physical offices offer limited in-person services, we continue to offer a number of ways to connect with College Academic Counseling including:

In-Person Window Hours

(Beginning Monday, 10/18/2021)

  • Monday – Thursday, 10:00am-2:00pm Pacific and Friday, 10:30am-2:00pm Pacific (excluding university holidays)

Please note that the window is only available to provide information.  Petitions and all other processes will continue to be conducted through our current online procedures.

REACH Virtual Drop-In

  • Monday-Friday, 10:00am-3:00pm Pacific (excluding university holidays)

Please note that REACH is for quick advising questions or to schedule appointments with a College advisor.

REACH Virtual Drop-In is only available to current students and newly admitted students who have completed orientation.  Prospective students in need of advisement should contact UCLA Undergraduate Admission directly with their questions.

Students will not be admitted into REACH Virtual Drop-In during the last 10 minutes of each session.

You will sign-in to a virtual lobby where you may experience a short wait for an advisor to join you.  When you enter the REACH drop-in lobby, you will be greeted by a student staff member.  Once available, you will be connected with either a Peer Counselor, College Academic Mentor or professional staff member.  As REACH Virtual Drop-In sessions are first-come, first-served, wait times for an individual advising session during peak periods can be longer than 30 minutes.

Appointments via Zoom

30-Minute Zoom Advising Appointments 
Contact us through the CAC Message Center account to set up a 30-minute Zoom advising appointment (audio or video).  Please be sure to include the following information in your request:

  • Year in college (1st, 2nd, 3rd, new transfer, 4th)
  • Gender pronouns
  • A brief description of the main purpose for the appointment (e.g. major exploration, assistance with degree planning, academic difficulty, etc)
  • Major(s)/minor(s) for which you wish to plan (e.g. Anthropology BA, Biology major & Disability Studies minor, or Statistics & Sociology double major). Please also note if you are pre-health/pre-med/pre-law.
  • The 5 to 10 best times or time periods (e.g. Monday 2-3pm) for a 30 minute Zoom meeting in the next 5 business days, from 9am to 4pm.

Advising Appointments via Zoom
Once your advising appointment has been scheduled, you will be emailed a link to join a Zoom meeting with a specific advisor.  Please click the link in the email to join the appointment at your scheduled time.  Please note that you will be required to show your Bruin ID or other photo identification at the start of the appointment.  Please be patient if you join the Zoom meeting and your advisor is not yet available.

Advising Appointments by Phone

If you do not have access to a computer with a camera, we can assist you with a dial-in audio Zoom advising appointment.  Please contact us through the CAC Message Center account to schedule a 30-minute dial-in audio Zoom advising appointment.  Once your audio Zoom advising appointment has been scheduled, an advisor send you a message through UCLA Message Center with information that will allow you to dial-in to your appointment.  You will be asked questions over the phone to confirm your identity prior to the start of your advising appointment.
