Our physical offices are reopening in a limited fashion. If you need to submit forms or other paperwork to us, please send an electronic copy through CAC Message Center account .
Please contact a departmental advisor if you have questions related to specific majors or minors or regarding enrollment, as we are unable to assist you in these areas. Contact information can be found on the Departmental Advisors Directory.
We are here to support you in-person at A-316 Murphy Hall, Window 2.
- Monday – Thursday, 10:00am-2:00pm Pacific and Friday, 10:30am-2:00pm Pacific (excluding university holidays)
Please note that the window is only available to provide information. Petitions and all other processes will continue to be conducted through our current online procedures.
Please note that REACH is for quick advising questions or to schedule appointments with a College advisor.
- Monday-Friday, 10:00am-3:00pm Pacific (excluding university holidays)
REACH Virtual Drop-In is only available to current students and newly admitted students who have attended a New Student Session or New Student Workshop. Prospective students in need of advisement should contact UCLA Undergraduate Admission directly with their questions.
Please do not visit REACH while driving.
Please note that photographing, screen capture, and other copying methods or recordings are prohibited without express permission from all participants. If you would like to copy information or photograph the screen, please ask the REACH staff first.
Students will not be admitted into REACH Virtual Drop-In during the last 10 minutes of each session.
You will sign-in to a virtual lobby where you may experience a short wait for an advisor to join you. When you enter the REACH drop-in lobby, you will be greeted by a student staff member. Once available, you will be connected with either a Peer Counselor, College Academic Mentor or professional staff member. As REACH Virtual Drop-In sessions are first-come, first-served, wait times for an individual advising session during peak periods, such as the beginning of the quarter or during enrollment, can be longer than 30 minutes.
To expedite your REACH session, before entering REACH, please indicate your College advising unit by including it in your Zoom screen name (ie AAP-First Name Last Name” or “CAC-First Name Last Name”).
Please note that this link will only be staffed during the above hours.
30-Minute Advising Appointments
Contact us through the CAC Message Center account to set up a 30-minute advising appointment (via Zoom or in person). Please be sure to include the following information in your request:
- Year in college (1st, 2nd, 3rd, new transfer, 4th)
- Gender pronouns
- A brief description of the main purpose for the appointment (e.g. major exploration, assistance with degree planning, academic difficulty, etc)
- Major(s)/minor(s) for which you wish to plan (e.g. Anthropology BA, Biology major & Disability Studies minor, or Statistics & Sociology double major). Please also note if you are pre-health/pre-med/pre-law.
- The 5 to 10 best times or time periods (e.g. Monday 2-3pm) for a 30 minute meeting in the next 5 business days, from 9am to 4pm.
- Whether you prefer in person or Zoom, or have no preference.
During times of limited availability, or when appropriate, in some circumstances students may be referred to REACH to address their questions.
Appointment information for scheduled appointments is always available on MyUCLA -> Academics -> Appointments
If you are not able to keep this appointment, please cancel this meeting on MyUCLA so that we may assist other students; multiple missed appointments may result in students not being able to schedule appointments in the future.
Advising Appointments via Zoom
Once your advising appointment has been scheduled, you will be emailed a link or sent a link through Message Center to join a Zoom meeting with a specific advisor. Please click the link in the email or message to join the appointment at your scheduled time. You will be required to show your Bruin ID or other photo identification at the start of the appointment. Please be patient if you join the Zoom meeting and your advisor is not yet available. Please do not join this meeting while driving.
Once your advising appointment has been scheduled, you will receive an email confirmation. Please come to A-316 Murphy Hall at the time of your scheduled appointment. You will be required to show your Bruin ID or other photo identification at the start of the appointment. Please note that in case of illness or other emergency, this appointment may need to be rescheduled or converted into a Zoom meeting. If so, you will receive an email notification with the Zoom information.
Please do not send multiple messages about the same request or question as this will impact our ability to respond to students in a timely manner.
Certain petitions can now be submitted virtually though our website. You can currently upload Restricted Late Drop Petitions, Red Drop Petitions, Credit Detail Change Petitions, Excess Units for the Quarter Petitions, and Transfer Course Credit Petitions through an online process.
