General Information

International undergraduate students in the College who need verification of degree completion to include with their request for Optional Practical Training (OPT) from the Dashew Center may submit a request to their College Advising Unit.

Please also note that obtaining verification of degree completion does not guarantee approval of your OPT request. The Verification of Degree Completion is one component of the OPT application, and you must ensure you submit all application materials to the Dashew Center   for consideration.

Who is eligible to submit this form:

International undergraduate students in the College who are on a F-1 visa may submit a request for verification for their graduation term once they are enrolled in ALL remaining degree requirements for graduation.

Submission Process:

1. Confirm the term and year (degree expected term (DET) in which you plan to complete all degree requirements and graduate from UCLA. This term and year should match the DET listed on your Degree Audit Report, as well as the term/year indicated on your Verification of Degree Completion form.
   1. You can update your DET on MyUCLA (Academics → Declare Candidacy Term)
2. Ensure that you are enrolled in all remaining degree requirements needed to graduate by your intended DET.
3. Fill out the top portion of the Verification of Degree Completion form   provided by the Dashew Center.
4. Click on the form link below and attach the Verification of Degree Completion form to your request.

Petition Review and Processing:

Once submitted, the College will review your request within 1-3 business days of submission. If we are able to confirm—based on your current enrollment—that all remaining degree requirements are in progress and expected to be completed by your intended graduation term, we will complete the section titled “TO BE COMPLETED BY AN ACADEMIC DEPARTMENT.”

Students may check the status of a request by visiting MyUCLA –> Academic –> Petitions. If we are able to complete a review of your request, we will send your signed Verification of Completion form to you via Message Center.

Additional Information:

• Time to Degree (TTD): If you are exceeding your time to degree, you must submit a Time to Degree petition to your College Advising unit:

  • Please note that TTD petitions may take 10–15 business days to review and process. Your OPT request cannot be considered without an approved TTD petition if you are exceeding your time to degree.
